Spent a lovely afternoon picking strawberries in Swanton farm , Davenport .It was fun but a bit windy in the farm .During the drive there was this program on radio about "your favorite weekend getaway place in bay area " .Vasu called up and requested Meghalalo Thelipomanadhi song from Gulabi . He did tell about our favorite places here, Carmel and Big Sur and how much we love exploring new places here .When he requested this song the anchor was like we were already on cloud nine .. hahah .Anyway here is the best line by line translation i could do for the song .

We went to the shark fin beach after that and spent 2 hours or so snacking and reading the book Marley and me .Btw did i tell u that i got few compliments for my dress and necklace .. haha .... tried my best not to include that in this post .. hehe .. couldn't help ....one was from a 7 years old or so ,two days and i am still blushing .. the little one sure made my day haha ....

Needless to say , I have been quite loud mouthed about how much we love Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur .Off late i have been running out of names for our picasa albums consisting of pics from these places , we already have Carmel,Point Lobos,Big Sur,17 miles drive ,Montarey ,Montarey long weekend etc ,i can never get enough of this place :)... As always loved the drive .I was telling Vasu that after a couple of years we should come to California to celebrate our silver jubilee or something like that .Visiting all these places again . Ahh love bay area feels like a extended and never ending honeymoon ,can't get enough of bay area and for that matter can't get enough of each other !!!! Saw this wedding going on at the Carmel river state beach ,isnt it romantic !!!
We found this awesome beach called Carmel city park beach ,trust me its the holy grail of all bay area beaches .Such clean aqua blue water ,though the water was bluish only when the sky was clear :) ..... So sad i don't have photos to justify that !!! We ran out battery as soon as we reached there thanks to my mid week photography attempt !! Got down into the water after a long time the water was cold like all other bay area beaches :) ... Here is a silly line on beaches here "Beaches beaches everywhere , but can not get down anywhere " haha ..Played in water for sometime and went for a second round of lunch again did some window shopping too and again stopped for some time at the beach .
We had plan to visit Queen Wilhelmina garden which is part of the Golden gate park to catch Tulip bloom ,but i changed my mind and we headed towards Carmel for a drive .I wanted to visit the Montarey sand dunes for quite some time,but never figured out how to get there.Finally we figured out a way to get to the sand dunes ,though we had to Tress pass private property for the same !!After that we spent some time in borders to catch a drink and flipped through few photo books on Big Sur .After that we headed towards Carmel Beach City Park ,such a lovely beach .One of the cleanest beach in Bay area ,love the turquoise blue water here .Played for some time in water .I was watching the waves and people and dog playing while Vasu was catching some sleep with a Nap.We headed towards Carmel down town shopping area afterward , but most thee of the shops were closed already .Had dinner at Cicero's pizza in San jose .To me pizza means pretty much this place in bay area and the only other place i would eat pizza is New york .
Thanks to the march madness we were not taking advantage of the spring lately ! So finally we came up with this plan to go for a drive to Davenport for a beach therapy .
Davenport is lovely city 10 miles drive from Santa Cruz , has a small town feel to it , a refreshing break from the crowded bay area . We made a plan to visit Panther beach ,wall beach and go for strawberry picking .We ended up visiting other places but not these .The worst part was the the beaches were not marked , so it was kind of difficult to identify them .Nevertheless we had fun , we visited this beach called Shark fin beach , such a lovely place it was .There was a high surf warning on the Pacific coast . The shark fin beach is kind of rocky beach , the waves were creating dramatic effect against the rocks . There were literally few hundreds of surfers on the Santa Cruz boardwalk beach .It was fun watching them .
On our way back had our dinner at Siam Thai in Santana row and food was just wow .
We headed out towards Menlo park downtown in the morning . There is this place Caribbean restaurant in Menlo park that i wanted to try for quite some time. We went for a walk around the down town and then headed towards this restaurant and guess what it was closed !!!!!Gosh i was so disappointed ..... Finally had food at a Mediterranean resturant which we found though yelp ..... The day wasn't going as I thought it would be ..... boring down town,mediocre food .. thats when Vasu wanted to take me to this place called Twin peaks in SFO ..... and the FUN begins..... during a drive Vasu dedicated me this song on the local radio.
This place has a amazing view of the entire SFO downtown ..check out the picture below .
Btw the dress i wore ,is designed be me ,wanted to make Masakalli kind of kurti which kind of went wrong !!!! Vasu loved it anyways ,how on the earth he wont like ,a blue/white (being his fav colors) outfit :) .... Here is a small story about the inspiration behind this dress .During my Valentine shopping spree , i happened to come across these cute blue/brown sandals ,sitting on the shelves waiting for me !!!! They are right now "my favorite pair of shoes" ever ,such cute little babies they are !!!! My shoes fetish has been on a all time high right now .... have been getting a pair every week, for almost two months now ...... Those babies will totally rock with a blue outfit but i happened to have nothing in my wardrobe . Didn't find anything of my liking in the stores either , so decided to design one myself . Though i didnt wear those shoes they are gladiators and would'nt go with jeans and it isn't still warm enough to wear capris. I did quite some shopping all on the name of Valentines day :) ...got a awesome summer dress,few earrings, over sized rings [i am into them big time rigth now:) ]and few other jwellary ,two skirts ,another pair of sandals ,almost dozen lipsticks and glosses i picked up at MAC,Macys and Sephora and few other random things .I also got this awesome super cute, chunky Jadau necklace . I ordered it online and I am still waiting for this baby . Gosh .. i can keep writing pages and pages on clothes ,shoes ,basically all things girls love :) .... In fact i thought of posting pics of the above mentioned things here ..lol .. guess ..thats anything but this blog is about !!!! Anyway let me know if anyone is interested , i would love to do that :) .....Phew .. Had a tough time controlling my Feminine instincts ,still ended up with so much .. lol
After twin peaks Vasu took me to this place in Livermore called Del Valle lake .The drive to the place was awesome not the place itself .Paid a quick visit to the Livermore temple on our way back home .Here is another lovely capture by Vasu .
It has been raining like crazy in bay area since last two weeks .. and I can almost feel the deficiency of Vitamin D in my bones !!!.... Since our trip to lake Tahoe was canceled , I really wanted to go somewhere and have fun .We zeroed in on Coyote hills , we have been planning a tip to this place since last 2 or 3 weeks .Trust me , this place looks freaking awesome in spring , the picture perfect clouds ,lovely mustard fields and windows XP (default :) )kind of wallpaper hills .In one word WOW!!! Lately i was bored of all the winter dull colors the beiges,the blacks, grays and browns , so really wanted to dress up like all my favorite colors put together on one outfit !!! . So that explains my outfit .Did I tell you that i got quite a few compliments on it and since I am 'oh so modest' ,I wouldn't go into the details of the compliments !!! It started raining when we arrived at the place , thought it only lasted for 5 mins or so and guess what there was this beautiful rainbow .. TA DA !!! We went for a 2 mile walk inside the park , climbed tiny hills , it took us 5 mins to climb them and a minute to run down the hill !!! We were tired after a mile walk , so a break at a deck like thing along the trail , this is our favorite spot .This deck/look out point is located on the top on a small hill and has a beautiful view of the backwaters, Dumbarton bridge ,San Mateo bridge and SF skyline . I was running up and down the hill , Shepherding my imaginary lambs !!! lol .Btw it was highly inspired by Sirimalle puva song . This song is such a timeless classic, must watch .
As if all this fun wasn't enough , Vasu made me 'the worlds best Chk Biryani'. Once in a blue moon i get lucky and then Vasu makes me this Biryani !!!
