Aisha -My take

Loved the movie Aisha .. bollywood got a fashionista finally .. the movie was such a visual treat ... loved loved loved Sonam kapoor's
wardrobe in the movie ..hands down to the movie's stylist .. kind of styling never seen in Bollywood movies ...such vintage inspired styling ...vintage dresses - check ,vintage inspired dresses -check ,retro dresses - check ,big bows-check ,feminine fedora's - check , a lace overdose - double check ,vintage inspired updo's -check ,vintage jwellery ,statement necklaces check .... read somewhere that few of the vintage dresses for the movie where from a vintage boutique in NYC where Sara Jessica shops too .. wow ...I had no clue that the movie was so much fashion forward .. not that I didnt know that it was a movie
about fashion and stuff .. but then Bollywood fashion is a whole lot different thing .. no complaints about Indian clothes but Western styling is just plain clueless clueless clueless ....... where sporting high end designer labels is considered fashionable .. they let the label wear them , rather than wearing the label .... there is no concept of mix and match what so ever ....There is one female lead of the Aisha who wears a Dior handbag with her Janpath flip flops
how cool is that ..... where skin show is considered anonymous with feminity ,designer labels ,LBD's and peep toes and crap load of bling pretty much define fashion forwardness.. haha Sonam Kapoor looks very fresh and feminine in the movie .Loved her high waisted pants ,flowy dresses ,hair,antique finish jewellery ,lady like hand bags ,ballet flats ,silk chiffon tops ,delicate prints,kitschy belts .. everything was just fab fab fab ....My only grip about the movie is the footware section ,it was still dominated by certain Mr Choo and Mr Louboutins , those feminie dresses were literally begging for some feminity rather sexiness in the shoe department .. something like Mary janes or so .

Bobby Deol did manage to stand out in the chick flick .I used to adore him before this movie now he is my favorite .Btw not sure about the movie plot I was so busy watching the other details lol .. Vasu said it sucked big time lol ...

Backyard Blogging

I love journeys no matter how long or short ,weather land,air or sea (not that I have done this one though !!!.Just love the exctment of going to a new place .
It has been 3 days since I left US and it was quite a experince already .Let me sum it up daywise .
Day 1 when i left US : was quite a busy day ,the ususal packing till last moment,freinds dropping in to say bye,a bit of cooking for dear hubby ,the India calls and to top it all ,a mail from the airlines requesting a early check-in.Result we landed up in airport with no printout of the tickets and hardly any cash with us !!! Did I say jitters !!!!

I quite managed to convince myself and Vasu( hopefully lol ) that it was all his fault and Vasu kept restraining himself from the blame game (war ? lol ),since
he didnt want to upset me before my travel .I hate such "super cute" kind of behavior ,it only made things difficult for me .while in the queue for check-in at the airport I was so hoping that the flight was over booked or something and kicking myself for the fact that I could have booked my tickets with Vasu itself .Finaally after check-in we sat down to talk and I had to tak about the "holding back " ,, the 'tied down " kind of feeling and Vasu was like I was acting like a little birdie with her newly developed wings unable to decide between her

of my friends in India too have been asking .. so here there are finally .. This is my present house in Fremont , though the
pictures were taken last Aug . Its still missing the pictures of the living area though .

THE Trip !!!!!

I am all set and excited for our vacation . Only if my sweetheart had come along , I would have been super excited ..going gaga over the trip .. haha .. like I always do .He will be joining me in two weeks and I have slew of things to keep me busy during time !!!! Had a super busy week with all the shopping and packing stuff ,with ton of packages arriving daily in mail and packages as tall as me and the UPS guys using Dolly to deliver those ..phew !!! But all set finally !!!

Berkeley

Spent a day roaming around Collage Ave and Telegraph avenue in Berkeley .
I just love this city, the bohemian vibe , the food ,shopping and everything about it .
Got this lovely print from one of the art shops there ,loved it so much , the picture does no
justice too it .Planning a makeover around it :)

Went to Emeryville later in the day to catch sunset , but decided against it as it
was too cold by the bay side .
Spent the rest of the weekend running errands and shopping for our coming up trip .

A tale of two girls day out !!

Had a awesome day roaming around Santana row with my friend Vani .The day started with awesome dosas and chutney for breakfast ... dosa on a weekday = Heaven !!!haha
Spent the rest of the day roaming around the row and talking about fashion,clothes and clothes and more clothes !!bak bak-bak-bak bak-bak-bak bak and ton of gossip in between . Refueling at Straits Restaurant in between to continue on bak bak-bak-bak bak-bak-bak bak haha . In the evening saw the movie Ravan .
